Acts 13

47 For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

Acts 1

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 6

4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Isaiah 6

8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

John 20

21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”

1 Chronicles 28

19 “All this he made clear to me in writing from the hand of the Lord, all the work to be done according to the plan.”19 “Moreover, the Lord will give Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me. The Lord will give the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines.”19 For the Lord humbled Judah because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he had made Judah act sinfully and had been very unfaithful to the Lord.19 “But because the Jews objected, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar—though I had no charge to bring against my nation.19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.19 “and the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;19 “All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have come to a dreadful end and shall be no more forever.”19 He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.19 As often as it passes through it will take you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be sheer terror to understand the message.19 “The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it, nor can it be valued in pure gold.19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,19 “but offer a food offering, a burnt offering to the Lord : two bulls from the herd, one ram, and seven male lambs a year old; see that they are without blemish;19 Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits will have plenty of poverty.20 Then David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.20 Then Saul fell at once full length on the ground, filled with fear because of the words of Samuel. And there was no strength in him, for he had eaten nothing all day and all night.20 So Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came against him and afflicted him instead of strengthening him.20 “For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is because of the hope of Israel that I am wearing this chain.”20 “The Lord will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in all that you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and perish quickly on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken me.20 “and the fourth row a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They shall be set in gold filigree.20 The word of the Lord came to me:20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear,20 For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in.20 “From where, then, does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding?20 “teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”20 “also their grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil; three tenths of an ephah shall you offer for a bull, and two tenths for a ram;20 A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.

1 Chronicles 5

14 These were the sons of Abihail the son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz.14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.14 And he sent them to Lebanon, 10,000 a month in shifts. They would be a month in Lebanon and two months at home. Adoniram was in charge of the draft.14 Greet one another with the kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.14 And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.14 So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander.14 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died;14 So he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God, and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.14 And these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,14 And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,14 Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said.14 “I have heard of you that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.14 “‘but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.14 and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand.14 for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”14 Then his wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, “Let a gallows fifty cubits high be made, and in the morning tell the king to have Mordecai hanged upon it. Then go joyfully with the king to the feast.” This idea pleased Haman, and he had the gallows made.14 And the foremen of the people of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and were asked, “Why have you not done all your task of making bricks today and yesterday, as in the past?”14 “Moreover, I will make you a desolation and an object of reproach among the nations all around you and in the sight of all who pass by.14 “‘And the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple that was in Jerusalem and brought into the temple of Babylon, these Cyrus the king took out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered to one whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”14 Thus all the days of Kenan were 910 years, and he died.14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear and go away; I will carry off, and no one shall rescue.14 Therefore Sheol has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth beyond measure, and the nobility of Jerusalem and her multitude will go down, her revelers and he who exults in her.14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.14 Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of hosts: “Because you have spoken this word, behold, I am making my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and the fire shall consume them.14 “They meet with darkness in the daytime and grope at noonday as in the night.14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.”14 And he said, “No; but I am the commander of the army of the Lord. Now I have come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”14 “From Ephraim their root they marched down into the valley, following you, Benjamin, with your kinsmen; from Machir marched down the commanders, and from Zebulun those who bear the lieutenant’s staff;14 The old men have left the city gate, the young men their music.14 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,14 And he charged him to tell no one, but “go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a proof to them.”14 The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened.14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.14 and I will root out your Asherah images from among you and destroy your cities.14 Moreover, from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year to the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes the king, twelve years, neither I nor my brothers ate the food allowance of the governor.14 “and if the spirit of jealousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife who has defiled herself, or if the spirit of jealousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife, though she has not defiled herself,14 “I am at the brink of utter ruin in the assembled congregation.”14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.14 His arms are rods of gold, set with jewels. His body is polished ivory, bedecked with sapphires.15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was chief in their fathers’ houses,15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.15 Solomon also had 70,000 burden-bearers and 80,000 stonecutters in the hill country,15 See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.15 For some have already strayed after Satan.15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.15 Then he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and he came and stood before him. And he said, “Behold, I know that there is no God in all the earth but in Israel; so accept now a present from your servant.”15 Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,15 so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them.15 Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.15 “Now the wise men, the enchanters, have been brought in before me to read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but they could not show the interpretation of the matter.15 “‘You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.15 As he came from his mother’s womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand.15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,15 Then the foremen of the people of Israel came and cried to Pharaoh, “Why do you treat your servants like this?15 “You shall be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and a horror, to the nations all around you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and fury, and with furious rebukes—I am the Lord ; I have spoken—15 “‘and he said to him, “Take these vessels, go and put them in the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be rebuilt on its site.”15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.15 When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he fathered Jared.15 I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress earnestly seek me.15 Man is humbled, and each one is brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are brought low.15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.15 “Behold, I am bringing against you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, declares the Lord. It is an enduring nation; it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, nor can you understand what they say.15 “But he saves the needy from the sword of their mouth and from the hand of the mighty.15 The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him.15 And the commander of the Lord ’s army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.15 “the princes of Issachar came with Deborah, and Issachar faithful to Barak; into the valley they rushed at his heels. Among the clans of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.15 The joy of our hearts has ceased; our dancing has been turned to mourning.15 “If anyone commits a breach of faith and sins unintentionally in any of the holy things of the Lord, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation, a ram without blemish out of the flock, valued in silver shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, for a guilt offering.15 But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities.15 And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.15 “Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.15 And in anger and wrath I will execute vengeance on the nations that did not obey.15 The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people and took from them for their daily ration forty shekels of silver. Even their servants lorded it over the people. But I did not do so, because of the fear of God.15 “then the man shall bring his wife to the priest and bring the offering required of her, a tenth of an ephah of barley flour. He shall pour no oil on it and put no frankincense on it, for it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of remembrance, bringing iniquity to remembrance.15 Drink water from your own cistern, flowing water from your own well.15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.15 His legs are alabaster columns, set on bases of gold. His appearance is like Lebanon, choice as the cedars.16 and they lived in Gilead, in Bashan and in its towns, and in all the pasturelands of Sharon to their limits.16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.16 besides Solomon’s 3,300 chief officers who were over the work, who had charge of the people who carried on the work.16 Rejoice always,16 If any believing woman has relatives who are widows, let her care for them. Let the church not be burdened, so that it may care for those who are truly widows.16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer.16 But he said, “As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.16 Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet.16 The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.16 Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the Lord: “In all the squares there shall be wailing, and in all the streets they shall say, ‘Alas! Alas!’ They shall call the farmers to mourning and to wailing those who are skilled in lamentation,16 “But I have heard that you can give interpretations and solve problems. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around your neck and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”16 “‘Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.16 This also is a grievous evil: just as he came, so shall he go, and what gain is there to him who toils for the wind?16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.16 “No straw is given to your servants, yet they say to us, ‘Make bricks!’ And behold, your servants are beaten; but the fault is in your own people.”16 “when I send against you the deadly arrows of famine, arrows for destruction, which I will send to destroy you, and when I bring more and more famine upon you and break your supply of bread.16 “‘Then this Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundations of the house of God that is in Jerusalem, and from that time until now it has been in building, and it is not yet finished.’16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.16 Mahalalel lived after he fathered Jared 830 years and had other sons and daughters.16 But the Lord of hosts is exalted in justice, and the Holy God shows himself holy in righteousness.16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.16 “Their quiver is like an open tomb; they are all mighty warriors.16 “So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.16 And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.16 “Why did you sit still among the sheepfolds, to hear the whistling for the flocks? Among the clans of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.16 The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!16 “He shall also make restitution for what he has done amiss in the holy thing and shall add a fifth to it and give it to the priest. And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and he shall be forgiven.16 But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.16 And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs.16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.16 I also persevered in the work on this wall, and we acquired no land, and all my servants were gathered there for the work.16 “And the priest shall bring her near and set her before the Lord.16 Should your springs be scattered abroad, streams of water in the streets?16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.16 His mouth is most sweet, and he is altogether desirable. This is my beloved and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
