Mary sits beside the swaddled Infant Jesus as shepherds gather in reverent wonder inside the stable. A kneeling shepherd bows near the manger, others stand with staffs in hand, and Joseph gestures toward the child as the warm light centers on Christ. The scene portrays the shepherds’ arrival in Bethlehem after the angelic announcement: the sign given to them was a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.
